Meet Knala | Self-eSTEM Impact Story

When Knala first joined Self-eSTEM back in 2018, she was a bright student looking to expand her interests but group work and collaboration in group settings pushed her out of her comfort zone. Over the next five years, through summer camps, real-world projects, and meaningful mentorship, she found her voice and her path.

As she continued her journey with Self-eSTEM, Knala not only grew in confidence but also developed the critical thinking skills that now shape how she navigates college and her future career. “Self-eSTEM has taught me to be a critical thinker. Every time I come, I learn something new,” she shared. “People may not think the stuff we talk about here will pop up in the real world, but it definitely does.”

Knala’s transformation didn’t stop at personal growth, she also stepped into a leadership role. As a Self-eSTEM Marketing Intern, she now helps amplify the mission of Self-eSTEM. It’s a full-circle moment that showcases how community-centered programs can empower young women to lead from where they are.

Now a college junior, Knala is a living example of what happens when opportunity meets preparation and when girls are given the space to grow at their own pace, in a place where they feel seen.
