Innovator Impact: Anari’s Story

“I want to be a leader for others and find fun in math and science.”

Anari was a straight-A student who occasionally found herself ahead of the pace in her standard school curriculum. Self-eSTEM gave her the challenge she was looking for and a community that stuck.

Anari joined Self-eSTEM in 2018 at seven years old. Over eight years, the STEM Exploration Camp, Digital & AI Programming and signature STEM Engagements gave her the challenge her school didn’t and the peers who pushed her.

In 2025, Anari’s team won first place in the Digital & AI Programming Innovator Showcase. Self-eSTEM is now a family affair: Anari’s younger sister participates in the program, and her father volunteers with the organization. Anari’s father, Anwaar, has watched that growth up close: “They see their work get put to use and they see that it’s tangible and it’s working.” 

In 2026, Anari began volunteering with Self-eSTEM directly, including guiding prospective students on Innovators Interview Day.
