Meet Amiya|Self-eSTEM Impact Story

Amiya joined Self-eSTEM in 2017 at nine years old, beginning her journey with curiosity and a growing interest in innovation, creativity, and technology. What she didn’t yet know was how deeply the experience would shape her confidence, vision, and belief in what was possible for her future.

Over the years, Amiya developed her leadership skills, strengthened her technical abilities, and built meaningful relationships with peers who shared her passion. For her, the sense of belonging has been just as transformative as the learning.

“Self-eSTEM is different because it encourages girls to reach for the stars and pursue a STEM career,” she shared. “I’m constantly surrounded by people I can relate to and share similar experiences with.”

Representation mattered and in Self-eSTEM, she saw herself reflected, supported, and celebrated.

In 2025, her hard work and innovation culminated in a major milestone: Amiya was selected as one of the Innovator Showcase winners during Self-eSTEM’s Summer STEM Camp. She went on to present her project publicly at the 11th Annual Innovator Showcase Celebration, sharing her ideas with families, supporters, and community leaders.
